Best Campground in South Carolina Hilton Head National RV Resort

Hilton Head National RV Resort has so much to offer! It is one of our FAVORITE campgrounds we have visited since starting our full time RV journey.

Hilton Head National RV Resort Website

Campground

There are 2 separate sections to this RV resort one part for 21 and older (Waters Edge) and one side family friendly. Now it’s up to you which area you want to stay at. They both offer a pool and a club house and you can access the Golf course from both of them.

Amenities

Outside of the RV Resort

You can literally stay at the RV resort your entire stay and never leave they have everything there! But what’s a vacation if you don’t go out and explore what is around.

Beaches

Coligny Beach and Folly Field Beach have public access to the beach. The beaches are flat and great for walking, running or biking (no electric bikes on Sea Pines beaches).

Coligny beach has public parking that is free but it fills up quickly so arrive early in the day or later in the afternoon/evening. The beaches here have tide pools when in the evening the tide goes out and leave these puddles of ocean behind which is perfect for the little to play in. When the tide starts coming back in these puddles are then covered by ocean again. Fresh ocean water daily!

Folly Field beach has little public parking but you have to pay $2/hour to park. Pay after you park and grab a ticket.

Remember to bring sand shovels and buckets, towels and water. We bring a small thing of vinegar incase anyone gets stung by jelly fish. (I got stung here in 2015 and vinegar really helped with he pain and swelling)

Restaurants

A Lowcountry Backyard Restaurant – we have been coming back to this restaurant since 2015. The outdoor seating is so cozy and they have a band playing on the patio. The food is great and so many great food options.

Nectar Farm Kitchen – was another restaurant we tried with a group of friends. They had vegan and vegetarian options. They have gluten free options but not vegan/ gluten free food.

Chipotle – has always been out go to for our family which has dietary restrictions. This one is off the island going into the shopping center in Bluffton.

Sea Pines

Harbour Town is located in the private neighborhood of Sea Pines in Hilton Head Island, SC. You will need to pay for a day pass to enter this neighborhood. As of August 2023 it cost $9 to enter this part of the island. You will not have access to their beaches unless you pay for their annual pass.

There are restaurants and a light house museum you can visit. Entrance into the Lighthouse museum is $5.75 per person. This museum has so much history and it’s a fun homeschooling experience. You will even have access to the top of the light house to look out over the bay and Atlantic Ocean. The very top of the light house has a gift shop you can grab a souvenir there before heading back down.
